Craft lovers, food lovers, music lovers and art lovers unite. It is that time of the year again for the Hoboken Music and Art Festival. It's a free event that takes place once every fall and spring. Admission is free and fun times are abundant. Really though, I went last fall for the first time and had a grand 'ol time. This year's spring festival is Sunday May 4th from 11-6 and takes place on the Washington St. (from Oberver Highway all the way to 7th St.). The Festival is awesome because it's such a huge outlet for local artists of every sort (candle-makers, painters, photographers, sculpers, etc) to showcase their work, and hopefully make some profit. Last year, I was able to pick up some painted pritnts from a man who was probably selling close to 500 different prints (I got a sweet neon Kurt Cobain and a more mellow fallish-tree kind of thing - which look great on my purplest walls). Everyone was so talented and there was so much art I would love to have purchased minus the fact it didnt' fit into my sweet college student budget. The festival is also a great place for local musicians (some you many know) to come onto the scene.
